This right here made me curious about sport psychology in Nigeria. What possible magic could professionals have performed to salvage the dismal performance of the Nigerian athletes at the just concluded Olympics in Rio? Kristin stresses the importance of a mental training regime to achieve success. This is achieved by creating a toolbox with the aim to control-the-controllable by

  • Visualizing your entire day
  • Keeping a journal
  • Meditating
  • Reframing from negative thoughts
  • Enjoying the moment

To my surprise, there is an association for sport psychologists with quite a decent website. I can’t help but wonder if they made it to the Olympics. At least, Nigeria’s boxing coach is captured doing his best below:
